Turn Your Eyes
God decides the visions to believers
Devil in your ear to be a deceiver
Your dreams give you stories but are you a seer?
Visionary in the making to be casted among disciples, but your rivals stifle
Hinder the greatness you fold in post-it notes under your bible
Begging and pleading while the devil places his minions in your conscious of guided blurred hues
He hears your cries but you don't think it to be true
His heart felt pushes- yet feeling like your nothing but damaged goods
Too good to be true, a sinner turning holy?
God, don't want you - devil love lying to you
With an angel on your shoulder and the minions of the master too
Yet we stand in praise for all of the days, because what better way to be than to stand in the presence of light after dark
So I carry my lamp and mosey on through
This relationship seems one sided but I know to keep my eyes on you
I'm afraid but you remind me fear is not who you created me to be
Rather use the negativity to be crafted through my grave
With all odds against me I smile through the pain
The suffering endured, it is not for the sorrow
Word of advice? Be careful what you preach, for how can he make you strong if you can't be weak?
How can he provide if you want it easier than the lessons that become breached?
How can he answer when the devil was all you seek
Now give me a moment and let me explain
You really thought your hardest days was all in vain?
A story with no ending?
A pill to pop, a smoke to light and the hollow days of year long fights?
You not tired yet? Doing it your way every night.
Our God is intentional, you never left his sight. Our God is merciful, no life touched was ever too far
Our God is spiritual, souls cleansed only by might
So what if we tried? I mean what if we gave up? What if we let it all go by the will of understanding and lean on the other senses aside from this life?
An eternity in the making to a kingdom with open doors
He waits on your command, a God of grace to the disgraceful
I am simply stating, maybe we allow him to take the reins on the bitters of what's been distasteful
Maybe we allow his plan
